    HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Throughout 2018, the 419th Fighter Wing and active duty counterparts at Hill continued to advance the F-35 Lightning II program and set the playbook for all future F-35A operations.   In April, the 419th FW welcomed Col. Gina “Torch” Sabric, its first female commander and the Air Force Reserve’s first female F-35 pilot.
  • First GPS III satellite successfully launched

    The Air Force and its mission partners successfully launched the first Global Positioning Systems III satellite Dec. 23 from Space Launch Complex-40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The Lockheed Martin-built satellitewas carried to orbit aboard a Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, or SpaceX, Falcon 9 Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle.

    Airmen wearing OCP uniforms are authorized to add their former Airmen Battle Uniform subdued patches until the mandatory brown subdued ones go into effect.
  • Kandahar Airmen keep aircraft fit to fight

    The 451st Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron does things a little differently. Instead of having separate squadrons for each airframe, they are responsible for all the A-10 Thunderbolt IIs, KC-135 Stratotankers and MQ-9 Reapers at Kandahar. To do this effectively, each Airman must be an expert in their craft and communicate well with others.
