    Staff Sgt. Caryn Frederick, 19th Space Operations Squadron, was recently named one of the Air Force 12 Outstanding Airman of the Year, representing as the only Reserve Citizen Airman among the winners.
  • 19th Space Operations Squadron receives new commander

    The 19th Space Operations Squadron, a classic Reserve associate unit to the 2nd Space Operations Squadron, 50th Space Wing, received a new commander on Sunday, June 3. The squadron performs launch, early-orbit, anomaly resolution and disposal operations for the Global Positioning Satellite constellation.
  • 10th AF commander visits only Reserve space wing

    Maj. Gen. Ronald B. "Bruce" Miller, 10th Air Force commander, took time to visit the 310th Space Wing's on-site and geographically separated units on Wednesday and Thursday this week. After meeting with 310th SW leadership and recognizing a few outstanding performers, Miller began his tour at the 8th Space Warning Squadron, Buckley Air Force Base, seventy-four miles North of Colorado Springs.
  • 6 SOPS Reserve Citizen Airmen complete 40,000th satellite contact

    A crew consisting of all Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 6th Space Operations Squadron at Schriever Air Force Base recently made history by achieving their 40,000th satellite contact. As part of the only space wing in the Air Force Reserve, the 310th Space Wing, 6 SOPS’ accomplishment signifies just how far the Reserve has come in space operations.
  • 7th Space Operations Squadron changes command

    Col. Mark Stafford bid farewell to members of the 7th Space Operations Squadron during a change of command ceremony on Sunday while Lieutenant Col. James Hogan was welcomed in as the new 7 SOPS commander. Col. Stephen Slade, 310th Operations Group commander, presided over the ceremony.
  • Veterans build resiliency through equine assisted therapy

    A 2014 press release from The Department of Veteran’s Affairs determined that at least twenty veterans die each day from suicide. Multiple programs have begun reaching out to the veteran population in order to bring this high number down and provide our nation’s veterans with the help they need. One such program is based right here in Colorado Springs at the Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center.
