    SOLRS Airmen support the aerial delivery mission

    The 919th Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron has a team of aerial transportation specialists who provide for the aerial delivery mission. They assist our aerial training missions, total force partners, and partner nations by packing, rigging, transporting, and collecting cargo for flights. In a deployed environment this would mean transporting goods to austere locations and over enemy territory.

    The 919th Special Operations Medical Squadron began vaccinating Citizen Air Commandos against COVID-19 on February 1, 2021, after receiving their first shipment of vaccines.

    The Duke Field Preservation of the Force and Family team expanded support capabilities in November by adding five new members.  A dietitian, spiritual community programs peer network coordinator, metal health technician, social worker, and athletic trainer are newly available to members a Duke Field.

    Defender finds new calling in resiliency support

    A former 919th Special Operations Wing security forces defender is back at Duke Field and now helps Citizen Air Commandos with spiritual resiliency. Tech. Sgt. James Patterson recently cross trained to religious affairs and provides crisis interventions, schedules religious services and provides support with chapel resources for 919 SOW Airmen.

    Duke Field fuel cell hangar fire suppression test marks final steps towards renovation completion

    The 919th Special Operations Wing and 492 SOW will soon have a newly renovated fuel cell hangar ready for use. Civil engineers and contractors performed a fire suppression test last week marking one of the final steps for project completion.

    Capt. Lindsay Piechowiak, 919th SOMDS Infection Control Officer, organized a drive-thru flu shot line for the November unit training assembly to provide vaccinations for Citizen Air Commandos while following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

    Resiliency Support Team continues to innovate during COVID-19

    Members from multiple helping agencies and services come together every month as part of the 919th SOW Resiliency Support Team to work together to create events and provide services for Citizen Air Commandos and their families. When COVID-19 restrictions limited in-person meetings, the team was able to get together quickly to brainstorm options for virtual services and now has a system to virtually support members.
