    Duke Field commander bids farewell after 22 years

    Col. James M. Phillips relinquished command of the 919th Special Operations Wing July 8. Before he departed, he answered a few questions about his time with here and shared some parting words for the base population and local community.

    Citizen Airmen support global ISR mission at NRO

    Air Force Reserve Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMA) play a key role in ensuring National Reconnaissance Office satellites remain a viable component of global vigilance for the nation. The NRO is the government agency tasked with oversight of the United States’ intelligence satellites and is a crucial piece of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission, which is one of the Air Force’s five enduring core missions.

    Air Force Reservists return home from Afghanistan and Africa deployments

    Citizen Airmen support milestone rocket launch

    Citizen Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing cleared the range June 3 for a SpaceX mission which marked the 100th launch from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Flying HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters, reservists from the wing routinely clear the coastline of marine vessels as a safety precaution before launches.

    Citizen Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, joined top tier U.S. military assets from around the world in Miami Beach to demonstrate a cumulative show of air power at the National Salute to America’s Heroes Air and Sea Show May 27-28.

    6 SOPS flies the COOP

    Once a year, members from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) travel from Suitland, Maryland, to Schriever AFB to work side-by-side with the 6th Space Operations Squadron for Continuity of Operations (COOP) training. 6 SOPS, a Reserve squadron and part of the 310th Space Wing on Schriever, specializes in operating the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program satellites.
