Airmen with the 919th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron are implementing new training to ensure that standard is met with an innovative program that delivers expert maintenance in smaller crews, at smaller cost to the Air Force.

    Citizen Air Commandos at Duke Field said goodbye to a fellow Airman last week. Staff Sgt. Timothy Marion passed away at his home on April 1, 2021 after a long bout with cancer.

  • 919 SOW’s first female Airman reflects on career

    Ann Avant was unsure what to do after graduating high school and one day took a trip with her dad to visit the newly established 919th Tactical Airlift Group at Duke Field. Before the trip was over, Avant had enlisted in the United States Air Force. Little did she know that she had just made history by becoming the first non-prior service enlisted female in 919th Special Operations Wing.
  • SOLRS Airmen support the aerial delivery mission

    The 919th Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron has a team of aerial transportation specialists who provide for the aerial delivery mission. They assist our aerial training missions, total force partners, and partner nations by packing, rigging, transporting, and collecting cargo for flights. In a deployed environment this would mean transporting goods to austere locations and over enemy territory.

  • 919 SOMDS begins COVID-19 vaccinations

    The 919th Special Operations Medical Squadron began vaccinating Citizen Air Commandos against COVID-19 on February 1, 2021, after receiving their first shipment of vaccines.
  • Duke Field POTFF team expands support capabilities

    The Duke Field Preservation of the Force and Family team expanded support capabilities in November by adding five new members.  A dietitian, spiritual community programs peer network coordinator, metal health technician, social worker, and athletic trainer are newly available to members a Duke Field.
  • Defender finds new calling in resiliency support

    A former 919th Special Operations Wing security forces defender is back at Duke Field and now helps Citizen Air Commandos with spiritual resiliency. Tech. Sgt. James Patterson recently cross trained to religious affairs and provides crisis interventions, schedules religious services and provides support with chapel resources for 919 SOW Airmen.
