  • Published
Congratulations to this year's Air Force Reserve Command Outstanding Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, also from 10th Air Force, Tech. Sgt. Clayton Crouse of the 306th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.

More than 200 leaders from AFRC and the surrounding community came together at the Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Ga., April 15 for a ceremony to honor the nation's top Citizen Airmen.

The nominees from AFRC's Numbered Air Forces were also recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Air Force and its global mission. Lt. Gen. James Jackson, Chief of the Air Force Reserve and AFRC commander, recognized the AF Reserve's 67th birthday and stressed the importance of the Reserve for the Air Force's future. "We have been instrumental in the past and are critical to the future of this Air Force," the general said.

"Since the day we stood up the Air Force Reserve we have been standing on the shoulders of heroes like Brig. Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, Lt. Col. Jackie Cochran who founded the Woman's Auxiliary Support Program, Capt. Ronald Reagan, who became president-not too bad. The bottom line is we have some awesome Reserve Airmen who serve this country-the future is right here in these outstanding Airmen."

Before the nominees were announced, Jackson thanked all who helped support them. "Thank you to all of the supervisors who let us recognize them," he said. "Every Airman is a very valuable part of AFRC."

The other AFRC 2014 Outstanding Airmen are:

Airman of the Year: Staff Sgt. Kresston Davis, 908th Security Forces Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

Senior NCO of the Year: Master Sgt. Timothy Chisolm, A4 HQ AFRC, Ga.

1st Sgt. of the Year: Master Sgt. Jerrod Kester, Air Reserve Personnel Center, Colo.
