Make holiday cheer happen all year through the CFC

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Be the face of change this holiday season by contributing to the Combined Federal Campaign.

With the solicitation period just halfway through, the 2021 Combined Federal Campaign organizers said the annual fundraiser is off to a strong start, but they hope the holiday season will inspire more people to give.

So far, Hill AFB personnel have pledged more than $40,000 to participating charities.

“We’re off to a great start, and I give a big thanks to our volunteers and all who have pledged to the CFC this year,” said Maj. Dana Cates, co-installation project officer for this year’s campaign. “If you haven’t taken the opportunity to give, there’s still time. The holiday season is a great time to give a gift to an eligible CFC Charity.”

Established in 1961, the CFC is the nation's largest workplace charity drive and the only philanthropic effort permitted by law in the federal workplace.

Among the strengths of the CFC are the flexibility and choice it offers to federal workers who wish to donate.

In addition to the thousands of carefully screened local, national and international charities it supports, the CFC allows for contributions toward the relief of one-time catastrophes and personal tragedies.

"The federal workers in our region have demonstrated year after year their care and compassion for those less fortunate by giving generously to the Combined Federal Campaign," said Master Sgt. Harrell D. Singley Jr., co-installation project officer. "We salute these everyday heroes who do so much to serve their country and community, especially during the holiday season."

The many ways to give include online at https://mountainstatescfc.givecfc.org/, the CFC Giving Mobile App, or if you like pen and paper, download the PDF pledge form.

The easiest option is giving online. All you have to do is click donate. Then set up your profile, choose your charities, and designate your payment option: payroll deduction, credit/debit card, or e-check.

Giving the gift of twos is an easy way to make a difference this holiday season.

•         Give $2, $22, $222 per pay period through payroll deduction.

•         Add $2 more to what you usually give per pay period.

•         Determine how much you make in 2 minutes of work, and donate that amount per pay period.

•         Give to 2 charities.

•         Volunteer 2 hours of time to 2 or more charities.

If everyone in the Mountain States CFC gave just $2 per pay period, the region would make an extraordinary impact by raising nearly $5 million.

"Thanks to the tremendous efforts of countless volunteers and donors, our military and local federal workers are helping feed needy families, mentor children, and improve the health and self-sufficiency of many people,” Cates said.

This year’s CFC continues through Jan 14, 2022.
