Wing hosts 10th Air Force commander Published Oct. 19, 2020 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Maj. Gen. Brian Borgen, 10th Air Force commander, visited the 419th Fighter Wing during the October training weekend to get an update on the wing's mission and to visit with Airmen. Wing leaders gave Borgen an update on how F-35 operations here have evolved since the 419th became the first Air Force Reserve unit to receive the fifth-generation aircraft in 2015. The wing flies and maintains a fleet of 78 jets alongside the active duty 388th Fighter Wing in a Total Force partnership. Borgen was joined by Chief Master Sgt. Jeremy Malcolm, the 10th AF command chief. Outside the realm of F-35 operations and maintenance, the pair also spent time touring the wing’s mission support group, which is home to reservists serving in an array of diverse fields, including security forces, civil engineering, logistics readiness, aerial port, and medical. The general also hosted a breakfast Oct. 17 to meet with some of the wing’s promising young Airmen and answer their questions about the Air Force Reserve.
